Zoe Etkin


Zoe Etkin is a Los Angeles based poet, educator and doula. Zoe earned her BA in Creative Writing & Literature from the College of Santa Fe, and her MFA in Writing from CalArts, where she was a recipient of the Beutner Award. Zoe spends her time supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period as a birth and postpartum doula. She is also studying to become a menstruation educator and full spectrum doula. Her doula company is called Umeboshi Babies~Naturally-Minded Doula Services, and she is also a founding member of the LA Doula Collective. Zoe continues to write and publish poetry online and in print journals, including Ballard Street Poetry Journal (forthcoming), Broad Magazine, [PANK], The Medulla Review, and others. Zoe is the founder/editor of Red Sky: A Literary Journal, which showcases the work of established and emerging writers. Zoe has recently launched a series of journaling workshops, some specifically for mothers, and she continues to teach creative writing to kids and adults alike around Los Angeles.
