Danielle Adair’s work examines institutional and cultural narratives through video, installation, performance, and texts. She has toured her recent body of video-song-poems, And I Think I Like It., in Berlin, Friedrichshafen, and Stuttgart, Germany, London, Paris, and at The Standard, Monte Vista Projects, Ear Meal, and Human Resources in Los Angeles. Her feature-length video, First Assignment, includes the associated artist book From JBAD: Lessons Learned (Les Figues Press) based on her time as embedded media with US Forces in training, in Afghanistan, and in redeployment home. An excerpt from her novel, Selma, can be found in 30<30: Anthology of Innovative Fiction (Starcherone Press). Adair’s investigation of political walls, On the Rocks, In the Land, was on exhibit at Pitzer College, 2013. In 2014, Adair has been commissioned to compose an experimental opera for the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.
